Dynamic, Individualized, Collaborative

Picture
I believe that effective intervention comes from collaboration between the client, family, school team, and other professionals. Each child has a unique constellation of strengths and challenges, and therapy tools and strategies are always individualized to the client's needs, interests, and goals. I specialize in therapy for infants through teens, and have worked with a variety of clients, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech and/or language delays, and executive functioning deficits.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions focus on empowering students to apply learned tools and strategies across settings, as well as educating parents and caregivers to encourage generalization of success. Treatment of specific challenges or disorders involves determination of therapy goals and interventions based on the client's unique needs. Individual therapy sessions can be performed in-clinic, in-home, at the student's school site, or at a community location. Individual therapy may target the following:
  • Social communication and pragmatic language development
  • Self-regulation and executive functioning skills
  • Self-awareness and personal reflection skills (metacognitive skills)
  • Early intervention (birth through preschool age)
  • Articulation and/or phonological skills
  • Receptive and expressive language development

The process for initiating individual therapy starts by scheduling a free phone consultation using the form below.

Group Therapy

Dyad and group therapy sessions are ideal for supporting development of social communication and self-regulation capacities in a naturalistic setting. Parent and caregiver education is a cornerstone to successful therapy, and sessions involve a caregiver education component to encourage generalization of skills. Group therapy sessions involve a dynamic goal-setting period, during which specific the strengths and challenges of each client are assessed. This is followed by interventions that match the unique needs of the dyad or group. Dyad and group therapy may target the following:
  • Social communication and pragmatic language development
  • Self-regulation and executive functioning skills
  • Self-awareness and personal reflection skills (metacognitive skills)

The process for initiating group therapy starts by scheduling a free phone consultation using the form below.

At this time, I do not take insurance, though I can provide families with itemized statements that can be submitted to their insurance companies for potential reimbursement.
