Coordination of support among parents/caregivers, educators and specialists is often the missing link for a client's global success. Consultative services help to complete that link and ensure that intervention strategies are shared across the academic, social, and community domains of a client's life. Sharing my professional practice between clinical settings and school-based consultation and support has provided me with an understanding of how to smoothly integrate tools and strategies into a student's daily routines. Additionally, professional consultation sessions allow parents, therapists and educators an opportunity to expand their knowledge and delve more deeply into strategies for supporting social communication, self-regulation, executive functioning, emotional-regulation, mindfulness, and metacognition. Consultative support may include:
Parenting/caregiver support to better understand your child's unique developmental constellation and encourage their growth and learning.
Attending school meetings and advocating for supports and strategies on behalf of a client.
Providing one-to-one training and support to therapists, educators, and other professionals working with struggling students.
Providing informal (non-presentation) support and recommendations for small groups of educators, parents, teachers, or other professionals.
Helping caregivers and/or school teams understand formal assessment results (e.g., neuropsychological or psychoeducational evaluation), and best implement recommended supports and strategies
Consultations can take place in-person, over the phone, or virtually. To find out more about consultative services, or to schedule a consultation with Hanna, please use the contact form below.
